MEH Director General Fuad Mardiyev held discussions with D-8 Secretary General Sohail Mahmud on cooperation in the media sphere, the areas of activity of D-8 MEC and joint projects.

The issues discussed during the meeting:

• Areas of activity and strategic priorities of D-8 MEC
• Strengthening cooperation among member states in the media sphere
• Development of joint media projects
• Improving information exchange mechanisms within D-8

The parties agreed to continue cooperation and to determine the date of the next meeting.

The strategic plan of the D-8 Media Excellence Centre, joint approaches to challenges in the information environment and platforms for combating disinformation were discussed.
